Job Description:

Manager, Client Services

What will you do?

  • Respond within service standards to all incoming calls and emails from clients, consultants, advisors and internal business partners

  • Provide professional, high quality service to internal and external customers

  • Provide operations support to supporting administration teams

  • Promotes a teamwork approach to problem-solving

  • Demonstrates a commitment to quality while paying attention to detail

  • Assist with quality monitoring of calls to ensure compliance with proper policies and procedures

  • Understand how metrics, quality, and engagement impact the business

  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills, with the ability to deal with fluctuating work volumes

  • Participate in development and implementation of departmental initiatives and projects

  • Review complex situations and escalate as necessary for further review or approval

  • Observe and make recommendations to ensure compliance with proper policies and procedures

  • Directly support team with planning individual career development of staff, workload balancing and resource planning and managing performance of team when needed

What do you need to succeed?

  • Advanced knowledge of pension products and processes

  • Possess and demonstrate strong leadership skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • You have strong interpersonal skills and excellent listening skills

  • Bilingualism (French, English) required- support tasks for an English-speaking team outside Quebec


  • 2-5 years in administration or leadership roles

  • Experience in supervising and/or leading staff within a team environment

Specific notes:

  • May be required to work overtime and some weekends and provincial holidays during times of peak volumes.

  • Assists with training of the team; such as new-hire training, cross-training, and one-on-one development

  • Observe and make recommendations to ensure compliance with proper policies and procedures

  • Work with other business areas to create and validate training documents, as well as offer suggestions for continuous improvements as needed

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted.  It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.  In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.  Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
